Institution Overview

Ffynone House School is an independent day school for boys and girls aged 11 to 18 years old. They teach several subjects as well as some additional ones both in GCSE and A Level. It is currently owned by a charitable trust. Ffynone House School has many facilities that include a drama studio, labs, art studios, computer suites and a learning resource centre. Ffynone House School teaches students in small classroom sizes - with the intention of ensuring every student is supported without fail.
Academics

Ffynone House School believes in offering its students an education that incroporates aspects of the national curriculum as well other features that will enhance and consolidate learning. Students consistently achieve grades in GCSE and A Level of A or A* (level 7). Recently a massive achievement for the school was 100% of its Latin and Classical Civilisation class being given a level 9/A*. Ffynone House School offers the main sciences throughout the years, and are often the basis for competitions. In fact, the school came third in the Royal Society of Chemistry 'Top of the Bench' Competition. They have also been successful in the South West Wales Chemical Olympiad Competition.
Non-Academics

Ffynone House School is a school that supports and believes in the importance of extra curricular activities being essential in the development of a child - both academic and personal. As such, there are multiple clubs and societies that endorse the participation in clubs; not only to allow them some time off studying extensively, but to assist them in understanding other aspects of education that is so often overlooked. Ffynone House School has a tradition of many of these extra curricular activities being sports related, which includes rugby, hockey, gymnastics, football, table tennis and cross-country. They are fortunate enough to be situated next to Swansea Universty, and are regularly allowed to use its facilities.

Students at Ffynone House School are always given the tools required to reach their full potential in academic matters and otherwise. The school has many resources and activities that they implement in order to provide a high standard of learning, and make sure no student is disadvantaged. Ffynone House School has students that individually have made remarkable achievements, as well as a whole. In terms of academic student achievement, 83% of the students were given a level 7 or above in mathematics, over 75% were given grades of between level 7 to 9 in 2019. All in all, Ffynone House School takes pride in its academic success and student progress that the students have made throughout their time at Ffynone.
