Ruthin School is an independent day and boarding school for children aged between 11 and 18 years old. It is located in North Wales and is ranked 7th in the Times 2019 A Level League Tables, and 3rd in the Independent Schools Council by UCAS Points per Candidate. The school offers places to day pupils and international students, who are interviewed after application, and are committed to providing the very highest standards of education.
Academics

Ruthin School offers a broad education through their curriculum that they enrich with engaging programmes to ensure its students experience all that education can offer. The school has numerous awards and achievements that showcase its academic strength as an institution; in 2013 more than 60% of A Level results attained were at A* or A grade. This was only surpassed to 76% in 2016, and they also have a pass rate of 100%. Another notable academic achievement is that it was ranked the 27th best A level grades in comparison to other independent schools in Britain.
Non-Academics

Ruthin School has an annual tradition during the summer term, where there is a 7.5 mile race from the school to the top of Moel Fenlli (a hill) in which students and staff compete in. An interesting fact about Ruthin School is that the Queen once visited. Outside the classroom the school makes sure to encourage its students to learn and experience new opportunities that would assist them in their every day life, not only at their time at Ruthin but once they leave for their next steps. These are intended to increase self-confidence and self-esteem, helping them improve their CVs and shape them to become well-rounded adults.
Infastructure

Ruthin School is an independent school founded just outside Ruthin, in North Wales. It is over seven hundred years old, having been founded in 1284, and is one of the oldest schools in the UK. It was originally a school for boys, but has been mixed since 1990.
Student Life / Achievement

Ruthin School has many notable achievements, including the fact that an incredible 90% of its 2017 university applications were to either Russell Group or the top 20 universities. In addition, Ruthin School won the 2016, 2017 and the 2018 UKMT, a national mathematics competition. As a result of this achievement, it subsequently was chosen to represent the UK in Europe for three years in a row. Ruthin School also won the national Chemistry Analyst Competition a few years ago in 2015.
